Grafton County is a county located in the state of New Hampshire.
Its county seat is North Haverhill6. The county is the home of Dartmouth
College and Plymouth State University. Grafton was one of the five
counties originally identified for New Hampshire in 1769. It was
named for Augustus FitzRoy, 3rd Duke of Grafton, who had been a
supporter of American causes in Parliament, and who was serving
as British Prime Minister at the time. The county was organized
at Woodsville in 1771, and originally included the entire northern
frontier of New Hampshire, including a number of towns that are
now in Vermont. In 1803, the northern area was removed for the formation
of Coos County. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county
has a total area of 4,533 km² (1,750 mi²). 4,438 km²
(1,713 mi²) of it is land and 95 km² (37 mi²) of
it is water. The total area is 2.10% water. Grafton County is the
second largest of New Hampshire's ten counties, covering 1,747 square
miles in the west central part of the state. The County is roughly
rectangular in shape, running from Bristol in the southeast and
Lebanon in the southwest, to Bethlehem and Littleton in the north.
Grafton County ranks fifth in population with 81,740 residents.

Grafton County Fixed Rate Mortgages
This is the most common type of mortgage program.
Your monthly payments for interest and principal never change. Property
taxes and homeowners insurance may increase, but generally your
monthly payments will be very stable.
Grafton County Adjustable Rate Mortgages
These loans generally begin with an interest rate
that is 2-3 percent below a comparable fixed rate mortgage, and
could allow you to buy a more expensive home. However, the interest
rate changes at specified intervals (for example, every year) depending
on changing market conditions; if interest rates go up, your monthly
mortgage payment will go up, too. However, if rates go down, your
mortgage payment will drop also.
Grafton County Reverse Mortgage
A reverse mortgage is a special type of loan made
to older homeowners to enable them to convert the equity in their
home to cash to finance living expenses, home improvements, in-home
health care, or other needs. With a reverse mortgage, the payment
stream is "reversed." That is, payments are made by the
lender to the borrower, rather than monthly repayments by the borrower
to the lender, as occurs with a regular home purchase mortgage.
