Goffstown is a town located in Hillsborough County, New Hampshire. As of the 2000 census, the town had a total population of 16,929. Goffstown includes the village of Grasmere. The town is home to Saint Anselm College. The town was first granted as "Narragansett No. 4" in 1734 by Colonial Governor Jonathan Belcher of Massachusetts, which then held authority over New Hampshire. It was one of seven townships intended for soldiers (or their heirs) who had fought in the "Narragansett War" of 1675, also known as King Philip's War. In 1735, however, some grantees "found it so poor and barren as to be altogether incapable of making settlements," and were instead granted a tract in Greenwich, Massachusetts. Goffstown is a scenic town with twin mountains, forested hills, winding rivers, and an attractive New England village center. Recreational opportunities, including hiking, swimming, boating, fishing, snowmobiling, skating, abound. In 1998 the town added a privately constructed championship public golf course to its assets. is bordered by the following towns: Bedford, Dunbarton, Hooksett, Manchester, New Boston and Weare. Massachusetts, and an hour from New Hampshire's White Mountains or seacoast. Goffstown Fixed Rate Mortgages

This is the most common type of mortgage program. Your monthly payments for interest and principal never change. Property taxes and homeowners insurance may increase, but generally your monthly payments will be very stable.

Goffstown Adjustable Rate Mortgages

These loans generally begin with an interest rate that is 2-3 percent below a comparable fixed rate mortgage, and could allow you to buy a more expensive home. However, the interest rate changes at specified intervals (for example, every year) depending on changing market conditions; if interest rates go up, your monthly mortgage payment will go up, too. However, if rates go down, your mortgage payment will drop also.

Goffstown Reverse Mortgage

A reverse mortgage is a special type of loan made to older homeowners to enable them to convert the equity in their home to cash to finance living expenses, home improvements, in-home health care, or other needs. With a reverse mortgage, the payment stream is "reversed." That is, payments are made by the lender to the borrower, rather than monthly repayments by the borrower to the lender, as occurs with a regular home purchase mortgage.
