Yorba Linda is a city in Orange County, in the Los Angeles-Long Beach metro area. The community is in the Pacific Standard time zone. The latitude of Yorba Linda is 33.888N. The longitude is -117.812W. The estimated population, in 2003, was 62,358. The community was named after Antonio Yorba, settler, combined with Olinda, a nearby community. The area was once occupied by the Juaneño Indians. In 1769 a Spanish expedition passed through that included a soldier named José Antonio Yorba. In 1809 Yorba petitioned the King of Spain for a land grant and received the 62,000 acres (250 km²) that became Rancho Santiago de Santa Ana in 1810. In 1834, his third son Bernardo Yorba combined his father's lands with those granted to him by Governor José Figueroa, creating one of the greatest ranchos of the time. A section of the land was sold to the Janss Corporation in 1907, and it proceeded to subdivide the land and sell it for agriculture. It was connected to Los Angeles by the Pacific Electric Railroad. The small town turned into a growing city in the 1960s and was incorporated in 1967. U.S. President Richard Nixon was born here in 1913, and Yorba Linda is home to the Richard Nixon Library & Birthplace. The site is a National Historic Landmark.

Yorba Linda Fixed Rate Mortgages

This is the most common type of mortgage program. Your monthly payments for interest and principal never change. Property taxes and homeowners insurance may increase, but generally your monthly payments will be very stable.

Yorba Linda Adjustable Rate Mortgages

These loans generally begin with an interest rate that is 2-3 percent below a comparable fixed rate mortgage, and could allow you to buy a more expensive home. However, the interest rate changes at specified intervals (for example, every year) depending on changing market conditions; if interest rates go up, your monthly mortgage payment will go up, too. However, if rates go down, your mortgage payment will drop also.

Yorba Linda Reverse Mortgage

A reverse mortgage is a special type of loan made to older homeowners to enable them to convert the equity in their home to cash to finance living expenses, home improvements, in-home health care, or other needs. With a reverse mortgage, the payment stream is "reversed." That is, payments are made by the lender to the borrower, rather than monthly repayments by the borrower to the lender, as occurs with a regular home purchase mortgage.
