The City of Pinole is located in the San Francisco Bay Area, on
the shores of San Pablo Bay in West Contra Costa County. Interstate-80,
which traverses the City, connects the San Francisco/Oakland metropolitan
area with Sacramento and points East. Pinole is linked to central
Contra Costa County including the cities of Martinez, Concord, and
Pleasant Hill by State Route 4, which begins just north of the City
and connects with Interstate-680. The City of Pinole has a land
area of more than four square miles; much of the land has gently
rolling hills with steeper hills paralleling on the north and south.
Elevation in the City ranges from sea level to 500 feet above sea
level. The climate is mild, with no extremes of temperature, rainfall
or humidity. Lowest and highest temperatures are in the narrow range
of an average low of 40°F in the winter to an average 85°F
in the summer. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population
of 19,039. It is one of many small "bedroom communities"
along the I-80 corridor in Western Contra Costa County. It is located
about 20 miles northeast of San Francisco, and approximately a half-hour
drive (without traffic) from either Oakland or San Francisco. Neighboring
towns are Richmond and San Pablo to the southwest, and Hercules
to the northeast. The unincorporated area of El Sobrante lies to
the south. Incorporated in 1903, the City of Pinole celebrated its
Centennial Anniversary on June 25, 2003. To commemorate this historic
occasion, the City established a Centennial committee to plan events
throughout the year. Some of the events the City hosted were Mardi
Gras Dance in conjunction with the Library, a Cinqo de Mayo Celebration,
a Period Costume Ball, and an historic Open House and Walking Tour,
which featured tours of both the Downer Mansion and the Fernandez
Mansion http://www.ci.pinole.ca.us/

Pinole Fixed Rate Mortgages
This is the most common type of mortgage program.
Your monthly payments for interest and principal never change. Property
taxes and homeowners insurance may increase, but generally your
monthly payments will be very stable.
Pinole Adjustable Rate Mortgages
These loans generally begin with an interest rate
that is 2-3 percent below a comparable fixed rate mortgage, and
could allow you to buy a more expensive home. However, the interest
rate changes at specified intervals (for example, every year) depending
on changing market conditions; if interest rates go up, your monthly
mortgage payment will go up, too. However, if rates go down, your
mortgage payment will drop also.
Pinole Reverse Mortgage
A reverse mortgage is a special type of loan made
to older homeowners to enable them to convert the equity in their
home to cash to finance living expenses, home improvements, in-home
health care, or other needs. With a reverse mortgage, the payment
stream is "reversed." That is, payments are made by the
lender to the borrower, rather than monthly repayments by the borrower
to the lender, as occurs with a regular home purchase mortgage.
